Tokyo, August 17, 2025 – Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian Student Association (PPI Japan) proudly presents the 2025 Indonesian Art Fair with the theme “Suara Rumah: Homeward Song.” The event was a resounding success at the Meguro Kumin Center in Tokyo, attended by 286 people.

This year’s theme, “Suara Rumah: Homeward Song,” invited all Indonesians and international friends in Japan to remember, celebrate, and reflect on the meaning of home—as a place of origin, identity, and shared dreams.
The stage performance, combining traditional dance, contemporary music, and folk songs, was vibrantly presented by Indonesian students studying in Tokyo and the surrounding areas. In addition to the students and university students from PPI Japan, the 2025 IAF also featured performances by the Nusantara Culture Group, the Lindrik Bali Bli Bagus Group, and Aura Salma Kusumahidayat.

This year’s IAF marked the second edition. The inaugural IAF was previously held on August 18, 2024. This event originated from the desire of Indonesian students in Japan to introduce Indonesian culture through performing arts and strengthen ties among the Indonesian diaspora in Japan, in commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day. PPI Japan hopes that IAF can become an annual event, fostering love and concern for Indonesia and promoting the diversity of Indonesian arts and culture in Japan.

The Chairperson of the 2025 IAF, Putra, a Waseda University student, stated, “The Indonesian Art Fair is a platform for the expression of artistic and cultural creativity and a cross-generational meeting space that strengthens the brotherhood of the Indonesian diaspora while introducing the richness of the country’s culture to the Japanese public.”
Prima Gandhi, Chairperson of PPI Japan for 2024-2025, hopes that this year’s IAF will ignite enthusiasm, rekindle longing, and instill pride in Indonesia among the Indonesian diaspora in Japan. “Thank you to the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo and the sponsors for supporting the success of the 2025 IAF!” concluded Putra, who is currently completing his doctoral studies at the Tokyo University of Agriculture.
